Thailand Adventure 21 Day Retreat – The Thailand retreat was a learning community in Thailand complete with world-class adventure sports, Thai cooking, massage, tai chi and exploration of the Thai culture in both the north and the south of the country. We volunteered at an elephant rescue in Chiang Mai and practiced adventure and sports in the Krabi region.

Mexico – Xalapa Intro Retreat- Our experience was a 9 day immersive introduction to Xalapa, where history, culture, community, and self-discovery came together. We painted a mural for community service, learned about the rich plant life, history, visited the land of the Olmecs and went white river rafting.

Japan – Land of the Rising Sun – 21 Day Learning Community
This 21 day learning community took place in Japan with an emphasis on cultural and customary exploration. During our stay in the ‘Land of the Rising Sun’ we experienced local history, artistry, agriculture, tradition and modern day pop culture, all while exploring the Japanese countryside. This trip was perfectly timed for the cherry blossom season!

The Thailand retreat was a 22-day learning community retreat in Thailand complete with world-class adventure sports, Thai cooking, massage, tai chi and exploration of the Thai culture in both the north and the south of the country. We volunteered at an elephant rescue in Chiang Mai, built a sports structure for a Karen Hill Tribe community near the northern border and volunteered at a horse rescue.

South Africa – Culture, Adventure, Wildlife & Community-15 Day Learning Community
This Project World School 15 day retreat had an emphasis on outdoor exploration, adventure and cultural immersion in South Africa. We connected with Xhosa communities, learned about the history of the region and explored the challenges of sustainably within this region. We also took a look at the political history of the country and explored the social implications of social justice and human right. Finally, the Project World School retreat explored Kruger Park in search of in the big five and other wildlife.

Bali – Culture, Adventure, Wildlife & Community-10 Day Private Learning Community
This private Project World School 10 day retreat was produced for a private high school in Hong Kong. The retreat took place on an organic farm which featured hands on farm activities, working in tandem with a culturally conscious organization, learning the local food and nutrition, expanding our knowledge for a rural agrarian based community in East Bali . Additionally, we explored the countries rich cultural and spiritual heritage and learned the traditions of the crafts inspired by nature while bonding with local villagers.

Our 25 day learning community is centered in Greece with an emphasis on exploring the ancient cultures and traditions of the Mediterranean. In this land of ever unfolding myth we will live the ancient stories through local storytelling, traditional artisan disciplines, archaeology, exploration in the landscape and insight into the modern Greek culture, as well as the old. This retreat includes visits to the Acropolis and the world class Acropolis museum!

During this 22-day temporary learning community, you are invited to immerse yourself into the culture, customs, history and traditions of Mexico. Even though the country is vast, our route will allow us to experience the coastal region and observe many of the conservation efforts, the jungle with its preserved wildlife, and the history through the ancient sites built by the Mayan culture and occupied later by others.

Wales – Organic Farming, Natural Building, Off the Grid Living – 27 Day Teen Learning Community
During this 27-day temporary learning community retreat, you are invited to immerse yourself deep within the culture and customs of a the Wales countryside. Build community while working on a sustainable, organic farm, living sustainably in balance with the earth and it’s gifts. In partnership with our host, a high-producing small scale organic farm, we will build a small roundhouse (cob house), work the fields, plant and harvest and learn about the principles of sustainability. Together, we will get dirty, tend bees, forage for wild food, and cook fantastic fresh meals harvested by our community, all while being inspired by the great tradition of Welsh storytelling.

During Project World School’s 24-day temporary learning community retreat, we will immerse ourselves deep within the culture and customs and build community, learn to cook the flavors of Thai cuisine and find peace through yoga and Tai Chi.
