A 22 day learning community retreat centered in Cusco & the Sacred Valley. This retreat has an emphasis on exploring Andean culture, history, archeology and traditional artisan disciplines with a trip to the enigmatic Machu Picchu.

The 2015 Cusco & Sacred Valley Retreat is a 22-day “temporary learning-community”, utilizing the landscape and culture of Cusco and the Sacred Valley as a means for immersive discovery in history, art, archaeology, mysticism, and science. Project World School Peru is not a typical study abroad program as it will take advantage of the power of a learning-community to produce collaborative goals, knowledge acquisition, personal development, and changes in global perspectives.

Who: 8 or more teen participants (ages 13-22)
A minimum of 8 participants is required to produce this learning community

Cost: $2999 All inclusive


Full accommodation for the duration of the learning community retreat
All airport transfers
All ground transportation
Breakfast, lunch, and dinners during the retreat (with the exception of 2 free days scheduled during each retreat).
Entrance fees to all the included attractions
All workshops, talks, guided tours, and classes throughout the retreat.
Filtered drinking water to refill your water bottles (water bottle not included).

Does not include: International airfare, laundry, snacks, and extra activities

The cost does not cover extras such as souvenirs, toiletries, batteries, or other personal items. Laundry services are not included either. Also there are 2 scheduled free days during each retreat. Extra activities are available to be scheduled at a discount rate for our group, such as kayaking, horse-back riding, surfing etc. These days can be used to shop or just rest and reflect.

Breakfast and dinner will be provided these days but lunch will not. Also additional snacks throughout the retreat are not covered.

International flights from your home country to each retreat location are not included.

Day 4 – Travel to Cusco & the Sacred Valley
Day 5 – Pisac Traditional Cooking
Day 6 – Llamas & Condors
Day 7 – Cusco, Qoricancha, Chocolate Making
Day 8 – Sacred Plants, Nature Walk, Market
Day 9  – Home-stay at local Andean farm
Day 10 – Farm, prepare chicha
Day 11 – Local Andean cooking & history- Prepare Cuy
Day 12 – Return to retreat center in morning Free Day
Day 13 – Hike through Pisac ruins
Day 14 – Day of Music, Andean flute making & traditional music concert
Day 15 – Day hike, Moray & Moras
Day 16– Explore Ollantaytambo & Chinchero Ruins
Day 17 – Explore the Caves, Zone X & Temple of the Moon
Day 18 – Trip to the cloud forest conservation center
Day 19– Birds, insects and orchids
Day 20 – Machu Picchu
Day 21 – Despacho  Blessing for Pachamama (Mother Earth) & Closing Ceremony
Day 22 – Board national flight from Cusco to Lima, then return board flights back to your home country
