Yes. This is a beautiful, tranquil island. The swimming is amazing and the people are very friendly. We only climb in the mornings and are back for a swim and lunch everyday by 1:00 PM. Also, the hikes to the climbs are uphill and range from 20 minutes to 1 hour. However, there is no humidity and you have the view of the ocean the whole time.
No. This trip is being offered by Project World School’s partner and co-facilitator, Michael Weitzman. Michael is a world class climbing instructor and facilitator during our retreats. He is leading this climbing Add-On as a service to our retreat participants who wish to spend additional time climbing with an expert before our retreat.
Food and Beverage: Depending on your appetite, you can spend approximately $100 Euros per week to 200 Euros . Breakfast should be made in your studio apartment, purchase eggs, yogurt, cereal, bread and jam. Plan on having lunch out after climbing, and then a light dinner. There are dozens of eating options within a 10 minute walk of our studio apartments with local fresh fish, Greek classics and other kinds of food.
Yes. You are expected to fly in and out of Athens. If you are planning on attending the 8 Day Climbing Add-On, you will arrive in Athens on September 11th or September 12th. You can book your connecting flight to Kalymnos on the same day you arrive or you can stay in Athens for one night and take a local flight the next morning. The best price you will find will be booking your international flight from your home country to Athens, then book a local flight to Kalymnos.
You are responsible for covering your own round trip transportation costs to and from Kalymnos originating from Athens.
To get to Kalymnos, you will need to book a flight to Kos.
1. Fly from Athens-Kos on the local airlines, either Olympic or Aegean Air. This flight will cost between 45-80 euros each way.
2. From Kos airport, take a taxi to the Mastachari ferry for Kalymnos. This taxi is about 15 euros.
3. Ferry for Kalymnos (there is always one that leaves about an hour after the flight). costs about 7 euros.
4. Once you arrive in Kalymnos, take a taxi to the apartment, aprox 15 euros.
The cost for the trip is estimated to be about 65-100 each way, therefore, we’d ask you to budget about 200 euros to cover your roundtrip transportation for the 8 Day Add -On.
Unfortunately no. The official Project World School Greece Retreat starts on the 20th of September.
