Fresh food can be purchased in Puerto Morelos but for supermarkets, you will need to purchase supplies in Cancun. Otherwise, there are a variety of restaurants, and food stands in the town and our hotel has as restaurant as well offering fresh fried fish, salads, tacos and more.

Application & Fees
What are the retreat fees for, if I have to pay for my own transportation, lodging and food?
Good question. Your retreat fee will help us produce this event by providing cost for the 6 teen volunteers to run the”kids camp”, supplies for the games and other activities. Additionally, will be providing lots of extras, snacks, s’mores and other surprises during the summit. Finally, the remainder helps cover our costs.
Terms: Registration fees are 100% refundable until November 15th. After that date, registration fees will not be offered as a refund. You can, however transfer your Project World School Summit registration to another family. If you transfer your registration, please let us know by sending us a note at email@example.com so we can update our records.
Spirit Air is the discount airline that flies into Cancun. Flights from Miami are as low as $200 round trip, but you will have to add on bags to that price. We have never had any problems flying with them and welcome the discount airlines as a great option. Other sites for finding cheap rates are skyscanner, momondo & Onetravel.
Puerto Morelos, a peaceful village on the Mayan Riviera, is a place to experience the genuine Yucatan. Puerto Morelos makes an excellent base if you are looking for someplace quieter than glitzy hotspots like Cancun and Playa del Carmen. Government eco-reserve designations protect the reef and mangroves—and the village itself—from development. Outdoor options range from thrilling jungle and diving adventures to serene bike rides or moped explorations.
More on Puerto Morelos please visit this web site.
Let’s face it, Mexico gets a bad rap. Sure, portions of the country remain off-limits, but the risks of visiting many of the most popular adventure destinations have been overstated. You just need to know where to stay. According to this article in Outside Magazine:
While some cynical travelers say the State Department’s General Information Program and travel warnings are overly cautious and politically motivated, the department has taken extra steps to be nuanced in explaining the risks for Mexico.
Among the regions with NO advisory in effect: Baja California Sur, Campeche, Chiapas, Guanajuato, Oaxaca, Quintana Roo (the region containing Tulum, Puerto Morelos and Playa del Carmen), the Yucatan, and Mexico City.
The family retreat will be limited to one general area, the quaint town of Puerto Morelos. Although it is your responsibility to keep your children safe during the retreat, we are certain there are no longstanding political overthrows or drug cartels in this area that we need to worry about.
